Dr. Andrea J. Heuson has been on the Finance Faculty at the School of Business Administration at the University of Miami since 1982. She was appointed Academic Director of Real Estate Programs in 2009.
Dr. Heuson has presented research at more than 100 academic conferences in her career and published articles on mortgage finance and other fixed-income markets in numerous academic journals while teaching equity valuation, international finance, management of financial institutions and real estate finance in undergraduate, graduate and executive level programs. In the summer of 2009, Dr. Heuson was invited to become an Academic Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute, an organization devoted to the study of real estate and land economics.
Dr. Heuson was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended Newcomb College and Tulane University in New Orleans before receiving a Ph.D. in Finance, with concentrations in Financial Institutions and Real Estate, from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Ill.
