As  Director, Matt leads the firm’s real estate investment activity. He joined NAIEF in 2015 to start the Investment Management Division, an investment advisory and management group which provides solutions to investors seeking direct real estate investment. Matt has overseen and directed the raising of over $50 million of private capital through the company’s series of proprietary investment funds, Appian Investments and Primis Investments, while ensuring proper execution of asset-level business plans for the Funds’ portfolio properties.

Matt is responsible for the execution of the Division’s strategic initiatives. In this role, he develops and manages key relationships with brokers and capital advisors, investment and development partners, equity investors, and debt providers while overseeing the evaluation and recommendation of property investments to the Funds’ Investment Committee. Through Appian and Primis, Matt and the Investment Management team have led or participated in over $800 million worth of acquisition and development projects in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Texas, and over $250 million of dispositions.
